Pubs, ships, planes and trains
Hollyoaks and Casualty star James Redmond acted as head quiz-master at the flag-ship event Wine Tun in Cannon Street, London.
The charity event on Thursday 25 March saw a record-breaking number of worldwide quizzes taking place in one day, all raising money for the Family Holiday Association. Almost 400 pubs, from John O'Groats to Lands End registered for the event.

A number of travel firms are taking part, including Haven, which will organise events in its 35 holiday parks, and First Choice, which is running quizzes in resorts. Other sponsors include Attraction World, Keycamp Holidays and NCL.
Director John McDonald urged people to get involved with their nearest event or to organise their own quiz. He explained that the funds raised from the event will help the 2,000 disadvantaged families the charity aims to help in 2010.
"Save the Pub" All Party Parliamentary Group
The launch event was opened by MP Greg Mulholland, who is also chairman of the all-party parliamentary Save the Pub group. He said: “This is an absolutely fantastic initiative, and I want to pay tribute to the Family Holiday Association for coming up with the idea. I will be urging MPs to go back to pubs in their constituency and ask them to take part.”
Other MPs and Lords who attended the event 
Other MPs who turned up included Tony Baldry (Conservative North Oxfordshire), John Mason (SNP Glasgow East), Bill Olner (Labour Nuneaton) and Lembik Opik (LibDem Montgomeryshire). Lord Brookman (Labour) also dropped in to show support.

BFPO Radio spoke to Joe Hipgrave, the Family Holiday Association Fundraising Manager, about the event on Wednesday 10 March and as a result a number of quizzes are being set up by British armed forces overseas including one on board HMS Chatham, a type 22 frigate, currently stationed off Somalia.
Tony Baldry, MP, comes out in support of the World's Biggest Pub Quiz
Tony Baldry said, "I am thrilled that these three pubs in my constituency are taking part in this event. The Family Holiday Association gives children time away with their families that they would not otherwise have had. It is an opportunity for the whole family to concentrate on each other and enjoy themselves.
"I myself am looking forward to taking part in the quiz and would encourage people to do the same to support this great cause and break the world record."
