Airways passengers and cabin crew provide a further £20k!
First Choice
Airways cabin crew and passengers have long supported the
Family Holiday Association and earlier this week Chris
Browne, Managing Director of the
airline, together with Jason Martins, cabin crew manager,
handed over yet another cheque this time for £20,000 to John
McDonald, the charity's director.
The FHA
would like to thank First Choice on behalf of the thousands
of children and parents who have been helped enjoy a holiday
because of the generosity of their passengers and hard work
of their staff.

First
Choice gives £10,000 to the FHA
Peter Long, CEO of First Choice, produced a cheque for
£10,000 at a recent function where the Family Holiday
Association was the benefiting charity. The dinner at
the Savoy was the annual Hall of Fame dinner which normally
raises in excess of £10,000 for charity. The First
Choice cheque was in addition to the donations being
collected from the diners.
John McDonald, Director of the Family Holiday Association,
said "First Choice has been an excellent supporter of the
charity for many years. I was delighted to accept the
£10,000 corporate cheque but Peter also presented the
charity with a
personal cheque for £1,000 - providing a total of £11,000
which will be going towards a specific project in the east
end of London that will help help disadvantaged children and
their families access holidays in conjunction with the
children's primary school."
UPDATE
Peter Long visited the
school in July and met with head teacher Karen Glenister and
talked with a number of her pupils. Peter was very
impressed with the work being done at the school in one of
London's poorer areas but was shocked to learn that some
pupils had never left the borough and never seen the river
Thames far less been able to enjoy a holiday away from home.
"This holiday project can only produce benefits for the
children, their parents and the school" said Peter.

First Choice staff
hand over a cheque for £25,600 to FHA Director, John
McDonald, as a result of their in-flight collections over
the summer of 2004. Friday 11 March 2005
Over the past few years
you have raised in excess of £300,000 and helped over 3,000
children and their families get a much needed break.
The collections you make on all your in-bound flights make a
real difference to families for whom even a day at the sea
side is beyond their means.
|
NEW IN-FLIGHT COLLECTION BAGS FOR 2005
All
cabin crew have been provided with specially produced
plastic coin-collecting bags. The bag will ease the
coin collection and the depositing of collections at your

addition to the FHA.
