Family Holiday Association fields UK travel industry team in Malta Marathon/Half Marathon

The Family Holiday Association  is fielding a team of 19 runners in the 2008 Malta Marathon/Half Marathon on the 24th of February, most of whom are members of the UK travel industry.

The team, supported by Malta Tourism Authority and Belleair Holidays, hopes to raise around £10,000 to help the charity with its work giving children and families experiencing difficult circumstances the chance to enjoy a break away.

First Choice, Flagship Consulting, and Sunsail are all represented in the team, which also includes a group from Bales Worldwide, including their managing director Mandy Nickerson.

 John McDonald, FHA director, said that the runners were really excited about the opportunity to run in Malta as a fundraiser for the FHA.

 “Aside from the race, the team is looking forward to soaking up the Maltese sun, exploring, and experiencing the local culture,” he said.

“We last took a team to Malta in 2002 and had a brilliant time, so we’re really pleased to be back again ready to take on the 2008 field. “
